February 19th and 20th
1. Our church will be used as a vaccination site this Friday on February 25th- The vaccines are available for everyone 5 years old and up
- Walk-ins are welcome and this is free for all
- It will be held from 1:00 to 5:00 pm
2. Our Knights of Columbus are holding a membership drive- There is an informational flyer in the bulletin about this ministry
- Also, the Knights will be hosting an upcoming fun event - a pancake dinner on March 1st
- This is known as Fat Tuesday or Shrove Tuesday and is a celebration before Ash Wednesday
- This event will start at 5:00 pm
- Donations will be accepted for the cost of the meal
3. And finally, the long-awaited update on our Building Project as we work on Phase 2- This phase is to build the Parish Center, office, classrooms and the kitchen
- We had five companies bid on our project and our Design team was able to gather to view the bids last month
- In hindsight, it should not have been a shock that the cost was more than we had hoped for
- We all are observing that we are in the midst of rising costs for gasoline, groceries – most everything
- The cost of building supplies is no different
- Of the five bids, we selected the one with the lowest bid that was from a reputable contractor
- We asked our architects to investigate if this contractor could find a way to reduce the cost from the original bid
- The contractor did make some concessions but the final bid still came to be $5.2 million dollars
- Prior to the pandemic, the Phase 2 cost was estimated to be $2 million – on hand right now we have $2.8 million
- So, as we have all learned to do during this pandemic, we will pivot
- Earlier this week the whole Building Committee met and we discussed some our options and we are currently researching them
- We are committed to moving forward!

- Sometimes we don’t know how much we NEED our faith until we face challenges – this is a lesson from the pandemic and from life, in general

1. Nuestra Iglesia será utilizada como sitio de vacunación este viernes 25 de febrero- Las vacunas están disponibles para todas las personas de 5 años en adelante
- Son bienvenidos sin cita y esto es totalmente gratis para todos
- Estarán disponibles de 1 a 5 pm
2. Nuestros Caballeros de Colón están llevando a cabo una campaña de membresía- Hay un volante informativo en el boletín sobre este ministerio
- Además, los Caballeros organizarán un próximo evento: una cena de panqueques el 1 de marzo.
- Esto se conoce como Martes Gordo o Martes de Carnaval y esta se celebra antes del Miércoles de Ceniza.
- Este evento comenzará a las 5:00 pm
- Se aceptarán donaciones por el costo de la comida
3. Y finalmente, la tan esperada actualización de nuestro Proyecto de Construcción mientras trabajamos en la Fase 2- Esta fase consiste en construir el Centro Parroquial, oficina, aulas y la cocina
- Tuvimos cinco compañías que aplicaron a nuestro proyecto y nuestro equipo de diseño pudo reunirse para ver las ofertas el mes pasado.
- No debería ser una sorpresa que el costo fuera más de lo que esperábamos.
- Todos sabemos que estamos en medio del aumento de los costos de la gasolina, los comestibles, casi todo.
- Los costos para la construcción no son diferentes
- De las cinco ofertas, seleccionamos la oferta más baja que era de un contratista de buena reputación.
- Pedimos a nuestros arquitectos que investigaran si este contratista podría encontrar una manera de reducir el costo de la oferta original.
- El contratista hizo algunas concesiones, pero la oferta final aún llegó a ser de $ 5.2 millones de dólares, cuando antes de la pandemia era de $ 2.4 millones.
- Ahora mismo tenemos $2.8 millones.
- Entonces, como todos hemos aprendido a hacer durante esta pandemia, cambiaremos de dirección
