Finally, Christmas has arrived! For the four weeks of Advent we have been preparing for this celebration of the coming of the Messiah and today Jesus is born for us to bring the Good New to all.  Our world desperately needs his message of peace, mercy, compassion, joy and love. By His coming, Jesus brings that which our souls really long for–a complete communion between God and his people.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”  –John 3:16.

This is real love, the one that unconditionally reveals himself and shows us to way to go to heaven. The immense love of God was shared through Jesus. Jesus’ coming at Christmas only tells us of the great love of God and how he chooses to have our friendship so that He may continue sharing his love.

Love is not simply a feeling, but act of the will.  God chose to become love incarnate and we are called to choose love as well.  That means loving even when our love is not returned.  When we choose to love it is, in a sense, Christmas all year long.  Our acts of love for others make Jesus born in the midst of our relationships over and over again. And ultimately, that is what God desires for us–-bringing his presence all around the world.

On this Christmas, may the Lord shower you with his many graces so that you would experience his joy, peace, and most especially, his love.

¡Finalmente, la Navidad ha llegado! Durante las cuatro semanas del Adviento nos hemos estado preparando para esta celebración de la venida del Mesías y hoy Jesús nace para traernos la Buena Nueva a todos. Nuestro mundo necesita desesperada- mente su mensaje de paz, misericordia, compasión, alegría y amor. Con su venida, Jesús trae lo que nuestras almas realmente anhelan: una comunión completa entre Dios y su pueblo.

“Porque de tal manera amó Dios al mundo que entrego su Hijo unigénito, para que todo aquel que crea en el, no se pierda, si no que tenga vida eterna.”    –Juan 3:16.

Este es el verdadero amor, el que se revela incondicionalmente y nos muestra el camino para ir al  cielo. El inmenso amor de Dios fue compartido por medio de Jesús. La llegada de Jesús en Navidad sólo nos habla del gran amor de Dios y de cómo él elige tener nuestra amistad para que Él continúe compartiendo su amor.

El amor no es simplemente un sentimiento, sino un acto de la voluntad. Dios escogió convertirse en amor encarnado y estamos llamados a elegir el amor también. Eso significa amar incluso cuando nuestro amor no es reciproco. Cuando elegimos amar es, en cierto sentido, Navidad todo el año. Nuestros actos de amor por los demás hacen que Jesús nazca en medio de nuestras relaciones una y otra vez. Y en última instancia, eso es lo que Dios desea para nosotros—trayendo su presencia en todo el mundo.

En esta Navidad, que el Señor te colme de gracias y bendiciones, para que experi- mentes su gozo, su paz y, sobre todo, su amor.
