This weekend is Pledge Sunday whereby we begin the second phase of our Capital Campaign through committing to a monthly pledge which will begin in July 2025. This phase will help us pay off our loan of $2,000,000 and complete the construction of our church. This is the project of a lifetime and our dream is coming true through your sacrifice and generosity.
The first phase of our Capital Campaign was a success. I am so grateful to all of you who took the opportunity to donate. It is almost overwhelming to reflect on the depth of your generosity. Our motto for the second phase expresses our heart felt desire: “Let us complete the construction together.” Our faith calls us to action and this is an opportunity to use our resources generously.
The gospel this weekend reminds us of the importance of generosity. The rich man’s sin was not in having money, delicious food, and expensive posessions. His sin was an inability to see the needs of others and an unwillingness to be generous. The rich man’s salvation was lost because of his focus on self rather than the needs of Lazarus on his door step.
As good stewards, we are called to give freely, not out of our abundance, but from our substance. We do this out of our love for the Church and our desire to leave a legacy of faith for the generations who will come after us. I humbly invite you to join me in pledging to this second phase of our Capital Campaign.
Mark your calendars for this coming August 14th when we will celebrate the dedication of our new church building. It will no doubt be a joyous event when we call down the Real Presence of our Lord for the first time in our new church. God is good!

Este fin de semana es el Domingo de Promesas, y comenzamos la segunda fase de nuestra Campaña Capital con un compromiso mensual que comenzará en julio de 2025. Esta fase nos ayudará a liquidar nuestro préstamo de $2,000,000 y a completar la construcción de nuestra Iglesia. Este es el proyecto de nuestra vida y nuestro sueño se está haciendo realidad gracias a su sacrificio y generosidad.
La primera fase de nuestra Campaña de Capital fue un éxito. Estoy muy agradecido con todos los que aprovecharon la oportunidad de donar. Es casi abrumador reflexionar sobre la magnitud de su generosidad. Nuestro lema para la segunda fase expresa nuestro sincero deseo: "Completemos la construcción juntos". Nuestra fe nos llama a la acción y esta es una oportunidad para usar nuestros recursos con generosidad.
El evangelio de este fin de semana nos recuerda la importancia de la generosidad. El pecado del hombre rico no fue tener dinero, comida deliciosa ni posesiones caras. Su pecado fue la incapacidad de ver las necesidades de los demás y su falta de voluntad para ser generoso. La salvación del hombre rico se perdió por centrarse en sí mismo en lugar de atender las necesidades de Lázaro en su puerta.
Como buenos administradores, estamos llamados a dar libremente, no de nuestra abundancia, sino de nuestros bienes. Lo hacemos por amor a la Iglesia y por nuestro deseo de dejar un legado de fe para las generaciones venideras. Los invito humildemente a unirse a mí para contribuir a esta segunda fase de nuestra Campaña Capital.
Apunten en sus calendarios la fecha del próximo 14 de agosto, cuando celebraremos la dedicación de nuestro nuevo templo. Sin duda, será un evento jubiloso cuando invoquemos la Presencia Real de nuestro Señor por primera vez en nuestra nueva Iglesia. ¡Dios es bueno!
