From your Pastor… 

             As we continue to witness the result of our sacrifices and efforts to build a new church building, the phrase “DOMUS DEI ET PORTA COELI” resonates more than ever in our hearts and minds. This phrase in Latin translates as “The House of God and the Gate to Heaven.” It captures the essence of our faith and the reason for us to gather in our new building for worship. 

Our new building will be a sacred place where believers will gather to be nourished by the sacraments instituted by Christ. This will be the place where we grow in grace and strengthen the bonds of family and community. In our beautiful and classic temple, we will come to grow in faith and holiness seeking always the guidance and wisdom of the Lord. 

Every aspect of the building is intended to reflect our love for God and his teachings. Our desire is to not only spend time with him here on earth but more importantly spend time with him in eternity. Therefore, This church is a gate that opens up the possibility of Heaven. Here we will fulfill Jesus’ command to eat his body and drink his blood which, as he promised, leads to eternal life. 

The construction of our church reflects our dreams and aspirations to give honor and glory to God who makes all things possible. It is God who gets the credit. We at Our Lady of the Assumption cooperate with him in being good stewards of all that he has given to us. Our building is a contribution to the legacy of the Catholic Church in our area. 

All of us are encouraged to continue to build this legacy through prayer, volunteering, or contributing financially. I am grateful for your generosity and stewardship. Please remember that God will never be outdone in generosity. Our sacrifices are nothing compared to the blessings he offers to us. The blessing we call to mind today is, of course, the House of God and the Gate to Heaven – Domus Dei et Porta Caeli.

De parte de su Pastor…                   

                Mientras seguimos siendo testigos del resultado de nuestros sacrificios y esfuerzos para construir un nuevo edificio de Iglesia, la frase “DOMUS DEI ET PORTA COELI” resuena más que nunca en nuestros corazones y mentes. Esta frase en latín se traduce como “La Casa de Dios y la Puerta al Cielo”. Capta la esencia de nuestra fe y la razón por la que nos reunimos en nuestro nuevo edificio para adorar. 

Nuestro nuevo edificio será un lugar sagrado donde los creyentes se reunirán para ser nutridos por los sacramentos instituidos por Cristo. Este será el lugar donde creceremos en gracia y fortaleceremos los lazos de familia y comunidad. En nuestro hermoso y clásico templo, creceremos en fe y santidad buscando siempre la guía y sabiduría del Señor. 

Cada aspecto del edificio está destinado a reflejar nuestro amor por Dios y sus enseñanzas. Nuestro deseo no es solo pasar tiempo con él aquí en la tierra sino, lo que es más importante, pasar tiempo con él en la eternidad. Por lo tanto, esta iglesia es una puerta que abre la posibilidad del Cielo. Aquí cumpliremos el mandato de Jesús de comer su cuerpo y beber su sangre que, como prometió, conduce a la vida eterna. 

La construcción de nuestra Iglesia refleja nuestros sueños y aspiraciones de dar honor y gloria a Dios que hace todas las cosas posibles. Es Dios quien recibe el crédito. Nosotros en Nuestra Señora de la Asunción cooperamos con él para ser buenos administradores de todo lo que nos ha dado. Nuestro edificio es una contribución al legado de la Iglesia Católica en nuestra área. 

Se nos anima a todos a seguir construyendo este legado a través de la oración, el voluntariado o la contribución financiera. Estoy agradecido por su generosidad y administración. Recuerden que Dios nunca será superado en generosidad. Nuestros sacrificios no son nada comparados con las bendiciones que nos ofrece. La bendición que recordamos hoy es, por supuesto, la Casa de Dios y la Puerta al Cielo: Domus Dei et Porta Caeli.
